Health & Safety standards will not change because of Brexit.
The HSE website has further information on the legislation, the EU Withdrawal Act 2018 ensures that whatever happens there will be a certainty for the UK Health and Safety duty holders. Minor changes are corrected by the Act to account for the change from ‘European Union’ to ‘United Kingdom’.

To support the Act, three HSE-led Statutory Instruments convert current EU regulation into domestic law:
- Chemicals (Health and Safety) and Genetically Modified Organisms (Contained Use) (Amendment etc.) (EU Exit) Regulations 2019
- Health and Safety (Amendment) (Northern Ireland) (EU Exit) Regulations 2018
- Health and Safety (Amendment) (EU Exit) Regulations 2018
After Brexit, you will still be required to carry out health surveillance on your staff if they are exposed to workplace hazards. Don’t fall behind in 2020. Get in touch if you need our help or would like further information.
