Returning to work after lockdown

Every sector has been affected in some way by Covid-19. For many people work continued from home once lockdown was introduced. Employers were busy setting up staff to work remotely so that they could continue to work and function as much as possible. There were many workplaces such as manufacturing and many more where this was not possible. As lockdown restrictions are eased and we are encouraged to return to work companies are now in the process of trying to work out how to do this safely that allows them to function in a ‘new normal’ way.

It has been documented in the past that it is good for us to work and that work has physical and mental wellbeing benefits. As an employer finding the right tools and advice with how to get back to work is hard.

The Society of Occupational Medicine has published a guidance on returning to the workplace after the Covid-19 lockdown. The tool is free to download and provides and easy to use risk assessment form with examples for different industries and workplaces.
