Stay Well This Winter

The NHS is launching it’s ‘Stay Well this Winter’ campaign today.

Cold weather can be bad for your health it’s important that you look after yourself. If you start to feel unwell even if it’s a cough or cold, visit your pharmacist for advice on what medicines you should keep at home. Many over the counter medicines can relieve symptoms of common ailments.

Flu is infectious and spreads by germs from coughs and sneezes which can live on hands and surfaces for 24 hours. To reduce the risk of spreading flu, use tissues to trap germs when you cough or sneeze, wash your hands often with warm water and soap, and bin used tissue as quickly as possible. Catch it. Bin it. Kill it.

Check with your GP surgery if you are eligible for the flu vaccine. If you are not eligible you can get the vaccine easily at high street chemists and supermarkets.
