Format

  • Half day face to face or Virtual course.
  • Learning takes place through a mixture of presentations, group discussions and workshop activities.
  • The course will follow a structured format, ending with a personal resilience plan.
  • We limit the number of places to 12 to allow the instructor to interact with every participant.

What does resilience mean?

Resilience is the process and outcome of successfully adapting to difficult or challenging life experiences, especially through mental, emotional, and behavioral flexibility and adjustment to external and internal demands.

Why is resilience important at work?

Resilience is associated with greater job satisfaction, work happiness, organisational commitment and employee engagement. Raising resilience contributes to improved self-esteem, sense of control over life events, sense of purpose in life and improved employee interpersonal relationships.

What is stress?

Stress is how we react when we feel under pressure or threatened. It usually happens when we are in a situation that we don't feel we can manage or control.

What are the causes of stress?

Feeling under pressure, facing big changes in your life, worrying about something, not having much or any control over the outcome of a situation, having responsibilities that you find overwhelming, not having enough work, activities or change in your life, experiencing discrimination, hate or abuse, going through a period of uncertainty.

Why is important to have resilience?

Resilience is important for several reasons; it enables us to develop mechanisms for protection against experiences that could be overwhelming, helps us to maintain balance in our lives during difficult or stressful periods, and can also protect us from the development of some mental health difficulties and issues.
