Frequently Asked Questions

Why is it important to talk about mental health at work?

For people with mental health problems, not being able to talk about it can be one of the worst parts of the illness. So, by getting people talking about mental health, we can break down stereotypes, improve relationships, aid recovery and take the stigma out of something that affects us all. To learn more about handling mental health issues properly, sign up for our mental health training course.

How do you improve employee mental wellness?

Consider training your managers in skill sets that support mental health and positive relationships. Research shows leaders with even three hours of mental health awareness training report improved attitudes about mental health and a higher motivation to promote mental health at work.

What are the most common causes of long-term sickness absence?

Stress, acute medical conditions, including musculoskeletal disorders and mental ill-health continue to be the most common causes of long-term absence. Our course teaches you how you can better identify mental health issues among your employees.

What is mental health?

Mental health includes our emotional, psychological, and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel, and act. It also helps determine how we handle stress, relate to others, and make healthy choices. Mental health is important at every stage of life, from childhood and adolescence through adulthood.

How can I help members of staff struggling with their mental health?

Talking openly about mental health is important, creating a supportive environment, treating mental health and physical health as equally important, ensure regular one to one meetings, arranging training in mental health awareness. You can learn more in our training course.

Why do Line Managers need mental health training?

Line managers, given their position within an organisation, are often best placed to spot the signs of poor mental health in the workplace and – if equipped with the right skill set – can manage issues effectively before they reach crisis point. Gain confidence by attending our course.
